I think one of the best ways to evaluate a pet insurance company is to review pet insurance ratings or consumer reviews from the customers themselves.

• What do the people who have the insurance think about the company they are insured with?
• What was their claim experience like?
• What are the pros and cons?

Just click the links below to read the comments specific to each pet insurance company. There are both positive and negative experiences found. You can get an idea of which companies you would like to do business with and which ones you want to stay away from.....but remember, people are people.

As you read these reviews keep a couple of things in mind.

• First, people generally vocalize more of the negative than the positive experiences they have in life.
  
  
• Second, if you spent time on the individual pet insurance company pages and reviewed the highlights of the companies, you found that not all companies provide the same type of coverage. It is important to read the policy before you consider buying a pet insurance policy. Some of the negative comments appear to be related to failure to understand what they had purchased.
  
  
• If you continually see negative after negative post, especially when related to customer service, it should speak for itself. Buyer beware!
